Urgent review of export licenses for service dogs needed following new attacks

[November 2015] - On 26 October the granting of export licenses by the Dutch Government for the supply of service dogs to the Israeli military was raised in Parliament following reports highlighting their involvement in human rights abuses in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Dogs supplied to Israeli military by The Netherlands involved in abuses

[October 2015] - Dutch media reports that the Dutch Government has been approving export licenses for the supply of service dogs to the Israeli military for use in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. This has raised concerns in The Netherlands due to reports of human rights abuses involving these dogs.

Summonses in lieu of night arrests - update

[October 2015] - Following widespread criticism of the use of night raids to arrest minors in the West Bank, the military authorities announced in February 2014, the introduction of a pilot programme to issue written summonses in lieu of night arrests. The programme initially operated in the Nablus and Hebron.

Military authority releases arrest data for 2014

[July 2015] - On 8 July 2015, the military authority responded to a Freedom of Information (FOI) request submitted by the Association of Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI) regarding the arrest of Palestinian minors in the West Bank in 2014. According to the response 861 minors were arrested in the West Bank in 2014.

200 cases submitted to UN linking settlements and detention

[June 2015] - Today, MCW lodged a submission with the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture and other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment. The evidence includes the cases of 200 minors detained by the Israeli military in the West Bank between 2013 and 2015.
