Torture, ill-treatment and transfer (2013-2023)

[29 November 2023] - This report reviews 1,100 testimonies from children detained by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank between 2013-2023. The evidence establishes widespread and systematic torture and/or ill treatment of children and their mass unlawful transfer out of occupied territory.

No rules, no order

[18 October 2023] – It has been observed that for 75 years Palestinians and Israelis have been caught up in a fatal embrace of violence and injustice replaying over and over in a bitter loop. It is in just such situations that the "rules based order" is supposed to apply, without fear or favour.

Evidence update: Threats to extract confessions

[31 August 2023] - Ten years ago UNICEF reported on the extensive use of threats to extract confessions from children held in Israeli military detention. In the absence of accountability, the practice has increased significantly during the intervening decade. This update considers the latest evidence relating to this issue.

Administrative Detention of children at 15 year high

[30 June 2023] - According to the Israeli Prison Service, approximately a quarter of Palestinians detained by the Israeli military authorities are held without charge or trial under Administrative Detention orders. This number includes 18 children - the highest level for over 15 years.

UN Secretary General's Report on Children in Armed Conflict

[28 June 2023] - On 27 June 2023, the UN released the Annual Report of the Secretary-General on Children in Armed Conflict. The report includes trends regarding the impact of armed conflict on children in 2022. The Report covers developments in Israel/Palestine and includes the treatment of children held in Israeli military detention.
