G4S responds to MPs' questions - but is it satisfactory?

[November 2014] - On 27 October 2014, members of the UK Parliament wrote to the CEO of G4S, Mr. Ashley Almanza, requesting full disclosure of the underlying documents used to prepare a review published on the Company's web site. The company responded on 30 October but did not provide any additional documentation.

Undermining the rule of law

[November 2014] - For some time now the Israeli Military Courts Unit has distributed a five-page briefing paper to foreign delegations visiting the military courts in the West Bank. The briefing paper asserts that the military courts were established in accordance with international law.

Military Order 1745

[October 2014] - Israeli Military Order 1745 came into effect on 10 September 2014 and provides for the audio-visual recording of police interrogations of minors in "non-security" related offences in the West Bank. The order also stipulates that the interrogations should be conducted and documented in the language of the accused,

[October 2014] - on 27 October 2014, members of the UK Parliament wrote to Mr. Almanza, requesting full disclosure of the underlying documents used to prepare the summary. Whilst acknowledging that the company is under no legal obligation to publish the full Review, to do so would be consistent with a policy of transparency.

[October 2014] - ABC's Four Corners documentary - Stone Cold Justice - has won in two categories at the annual United Nations Association of Australia's media awards. The awards, which have been described as Australia's "Oscars" for human rights journalism, were announced on 24 October
